Ambergris Caye and The Reef

Ambergris Caye is a peninsula projecting south from Mexico. However hands of old Maya people dug a channel separating Ambergris Caye from the mainland. The second longest coral reef in the world runs a mere kilometer off the Ambergris' shore. It can be seen from a plane as a distinct white wall of breaking waves.  (It can even be seen from the space - see our GoogleEarth file).
